This is for you if

A Saturday morning walk with other Austin women is your kind of fun.

  • A low-key walk with other Austin women on a Saturday morning sounds like your kind of fun
  • You can comfortably handle about 2.6 miles outside in October (flat, paved boardwalk, no pace to keep)
  • You're curious about the wellness resources and local businesses supporting women's health here in Austin
  • You genuinely enjoy the company of other women, whether or not you know anyone yet
  • You want your donation to go somewhere specific during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, not a faceless national fund

Meet your hosts

Two women who make this personal.

  • Coach Lisa Wade, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and founder of Mostly Well.

    Coach Lisa Wade, CPT

    Founder, Mostly Well

I'm Lisa Wade, NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Texas Masters Boxing Champion, and founder of Mostly Well. Cancer is personal to me. My mom died from the effects of brain cancer, and her sister — my godmother — is a breast cancer survivor. This walk is one way I get to turn that into something we can do together, not just think about.

  • Amanda Allen, Certified Thermographic Technician and founder of Austin Thermography.

    Amanda Allen, CTT

    Founder, Austin Thermography

Amanda is trained and certified by the Professional Academy of Clinical Thermology as a Thermographic Technician (CTT). She uses the latest, most advanced infrared camera available to give clients a more complete picture of their health, and brings 15 years of patient care experience to every screening, putting clients at ease throughout the process.

What, when, where?

Everything you need to know to show up on Saturday, October 3 at International Shores Park.

What

A 2.6 mile out-and-back walk on the Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk — entirely flat and paved, no pace to keep, no timing, no race. Walk with your breastie or make a new one.

When the walk wraps, stay for Connect With Austin Wellness: local wellness businesses who support women's health share how they can support yours, Amanda breaks down where thermography fits into early detection, and I'll talk through how movement itself lowers cancer risk.

When

  • 8:30 AMMeet at International Shores Park, 1820 S. Lakeshore Blvd. Grab your swag bag if you're one of the first 25.
  • 8:30 – 9:30 AMThe walk — the Boardwalk out and back, about 2.6 miles, flat and paved, at whatever speed feels good.
  • 9:30 – 10:00 AMConnect With Austin Wellness — local businesses who support women's health, breast health education, and how movement lowers cancer risk.

Where

International Shores Park, 1820 S. Lakeshore Blvd, Austin, TX — street parking with direct Boardwalk access. That's our start and finish point.

We walk the Boardwalk itself, out and back. It runs about 1.3 miles one way, from near the Congress Avenue Bridge on the west end to around IH-35 / Longhorn Dam on the east end, so out and back covers roughly 2.6 miles — entirely flat and paved. Come in comfortable shoes with water, and give yourself a few extra minutes for parking.
